What are Cambridge International A-Levels?
Cambridge International A Levels are part of the Cambridge Pathway, preparing students for success in education, university, work and life. The programme is taken by students aged between 16-19, in the final two years of high school with the final assessment taking place at the end of the second year. The programme is recognised by prestigious third-level universities in the UK, USA and around the world, making it the perfect choice for students who wish to study internationally. The flexibility of the programme means that students can choose only subjects they are interested in or need specifically for university. The programme is open to anyone who has completed second year of high school, subject to meeting language requirements.
The students study subjects in English in three subjects they have an interest in or require for university courses.
The programme at Te Vizja includes electives such as Independent Project Qualification and The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award to bolster your university application.
There are AS exams at the end of Year 11 which can be used as predicted grades for university. The study ends with final exams, A Levels, with the exception of practicals in sciences, so students can focus solely on preparing for the exam session.

Mathematics
Cambridge International A Level Mathematics develops a number of skills including the skill of working with mathematical information, the ability to think logically and independently, consider accuracy, model situations mathematically, analyse results and reflect on finding.
Biology
Cambridge International AS and A Level Biology includes the main theoretical concepts which are fundamental to the subject, some current applications of biology, and a strong emphasis on advanced practical skills.
Chemistry
In The Cambridge International AS and A Level Chemistry the emphasis throughout is on the understanding of concepts and the application of chemistry ideas in novel contexts as well as on the acquisition of knowledge.
This is an exciting project-based qualification worth up to half an A-Level. This skills based qualification helps student’s develop higher-order thinking skills including analysis, evaluation and synthesis. It also helps them to develop and strengthen their research, reflection and communication skills through a 5000 word research project.
Students also have the opportunity to participate in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, is a non-formal education and learning framework supporting young people to find their purpose, place and passion in the world. It allows students to find their passion and to realise their potential through three activities – skills, physical activity and voluntary service – followed by planning and execution of an adventurous journey.

English language exam and CEM Baseline
Assessment Entrance interview between the candidate and their family and the Programme Coordinator and/or Director. This is to discuss results of the entrance exam, CEM results and any other achievements or results.
If all criteria are met, the candidate is accepted. Once accepted, the contract is signed between the parents and the school.
